Our Mission
Cookstr’s mission is to organize the world‘s best cookbooks and recipes and make them universally accessible.
We are setting the standard for innovation in the delivery of 100% trusted, tested, recipes to home cooks around the world. Our online recipe library offers thousands of recipes by hundreds of the top chefs and cookbook authors, that are free for everyone on Cookstr.com. This year alone, Cookstr.com powered recipe searches in over 20,000 cities and 200 countries!
Behind The Scenes
The secret ingredient behind Cookstr is our team of editors and nutritional experts who analyze Cookstr recipes one at a time, assigning dozens of criteria that make them easy to find and filter. Because Cookstr is powered by people (and not by computers alone), we offer intuitive basic search (such as recipe, ingredient or chef) and advanced search categories, custom-made for food discovery, such as taste, texture, occasion, course, budget, skill level and many more!
Health & Nutrition
Cookstr is committed to developing tools that help people live healthy and happy lifestyles. We are proud to offer nutritional information for every recipe on Cookstr.com, and have also introduced nutritional search – criteria that empower our users to search for recipes based on dietary considerations like low sodium, low calorie, high fiber, low carbohydrate, or low saturated fat – down to the calorie or gram level.
Beyond Cookstr.com
In 2011, we launched Cookstr iBooks, a new platform for collaboration with cookbook publishers, available on Apple’s iBookstore. These exciting, made-for-mobile cookbooks are available in a range of lengths and prices that invite readers to chose between whole books or shorter form sets and chapters, to build their own á la carte cookbook and recipe libraries.
We are also bringing the powerful combination of Cookstr technology and hand-curation by Cookstr experts to help market leaders in the media, healthcare and food industries create meaningful experiences around food, and support healthy lifestyles for their members with Cookstr recipes.
